Carleton has a pre-med committee that writes committee letters (that medical schools expect if the applicant’s undergraduate school does them). Presumably, this admission rate indicates that the Carleton pre-med committee only endorses the pre-meds with the highest likelihood of admission and discourages the rest from applying to medical schools.
First,I realize both would provide outstanding education to my kid and we are grateful. My kid is interested in Math/Phys/CS. Personality is on the shy side. Carleton is smaller, a little closer to home and a LAC. Vandy is not far away and more of a total university experience. We visited Carleton and like it. I think you will find that Carleton is almost always higher than Wellesley in this area. Carleton also has a higher percentage of alumni contributing to the school which is often viewed as an indication of the student’s long term satisfaction with their school. </p>. <p>That being said, Wellesley is a great school.
