1st Generation Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro: This was initially released for the 3rd and 4th Gen iPad Pro models. While it's physically compatible with the 5th Gen M1 iPad Pro 12.9", there's a slight thickness difference in the 5th Gen iPad, which means the fit isn't 100% perfect. It'll close, but not as seamlessly as you'd hope.

72. Nov 16, 2021. #4. I upgraded from the 6th Gen to the M1 11 inch pro for exactly the same reason as you. My iPad is by far my most used home device, and I felt that the 6th gen was getting slow and often crashed when moving between apps. The 11 inch is a huge upgrade obviously.
Feb 20, 2024. #3. 64GB Air 5 vs 128GB Pro 11. I’d go for the 128GB Pro. Personally, I’m finding 64GB quite cramped nowadays even without any music/videos/photo library downloaded. I’ve had to offload/delete apps on 64GB devices just so I can install OTA updates.

My speculation is that the iPad 9 will basically be a repackaged iPad Air 3 (which itself was kinda a repackaged iPad Pro 10.5) with a better processor, but possibly with a non-laminated screen so a tad thicker. The iPad mini 6 will be a new small form factor based on the iPad Air 4.
125. 11. Nov 26, 2022. #1. The mini has the slightly newer processor and anti reflective screen and is currently the same price on sale as the iPad 10th gen. But the iPad 10 has a bigger screen. My kid plays ROBLOX, geometry dash, Minecraft mostly and sometimes records themselves playing games and edits the screen-recordings in iMovie.

I held off ordering right away as I was so stumped on which size to choose as the price different is pretty hefty 64GB/Wifi $733CAD vs 256GB/Wifi $959CAD.

I think there’s a a fairly notable power difference in the two chips, on paper at least, and I would expect probably at least a couple years more ...
The App Store issue sadly is not related to the iPad 6th generation. I observed similar issues on my iPad Pro (both 2018 and 2022). So it is an Apple/iPadOS 16 issue. I have it installed on my 6th generation iPad but these days I do not use the iPad that much because the 2 GB RAM are not enough for my usage and leads to a lot of frustration.

Laminated display (which also makes it thinner), True Tone, better camera and smart Keyboard support are all good reasons. The 6th gen is solid for its price, though.
