Open Illustrator and go to the “Edit” menu. Choose “Color Settings” from the drop-down menu. In the Color Settings dialog box, set the “RGB” profile to “sRGB IEC61966-2.1”. This profile is designed to work with web and digital media and is optimized for hex colors. Under “Working Spaces”, make sure that “RGB” is set to ...

  3. Preserving Screen Opacity in Ai for Print - Graphic Design

    www.graphicdesignforum.com/t/preserving-screen-opacity-in-ai-for-print/24186

Ok, my fellow design and print gurus. How do I preserve the color created by a vector image in Illustrator with “screen” as the opacity? Is the best option to just save the entire background as a high resolution tiff and place vector text over it? I was hoping to only rasterize the gold swirling vector at the very least but that particular option removes the transparency completely - top ...

If text goes here, keep in mind that there might be printing problems reversing text out of a color. Your leaflet won’t be printed using purple ink. Instead, it will be printed by combining CMYK inks or toner. If the ink isn’t laid down perfectly, the white text could look out of register, blurry, and make it difficult to read.

InDesign is showing you how your image will look when printed in CMYK. If you want InDesign to display the original RGB file, head up to your main menu and select View. If Proof Colors is checked, uncheck it. Color management in InDesign is sort of a messy thing, and there are gotchas all over the place. For example, you might also have the ...

  6. What monitor(s) are you currently using? - Graphic Design Forum

    www.graphicdesignforum.com/t/what-monitor-s-are-you-currently-using/25894

BenQ PD3220U, Asus Pro Art PA329C and Dell U3223QE are my top picks at the moment but I keep going back and forth on whether to go 27" or 32". I’m mainly design art for t-shirts, color separations and some general print work. Just curious what monitor (s) others are currently using for graphic design and they would buy for their next monitor.

For years (a decade or more) adobe has included expanded CMYK color gamuts into their design software. However, they have always defaulted your working space to a color space that dates back to the 70’s and 80’s, and was used for web presses. This color space is called Swop, and if you check your working color space after reading this, you ...

For instance, in 4-color printing, just converting the Pantone to its CMYK values isn’t enough to get a match. A lot of times, you want a different CMYK combination to get the color you intended. If you can lay hands on a Pantone Bridge you’d know what I was talking about.

Be sure your lockup is done with Pantone spot colors, with appropriately selected CMYK and hex equivalents available. While you can use the gradient as a bling option, I wouldn’t make it your primary for reasons mentioned. I favor the stronger gold of the 4th logodown, but maybe a step lighter so you get the contrast against the blue.

A lot of CMYK machines in wide format or photo-digital have a much wider color gamut than press-CMYK and you will never have the specific profiles a printer may be using. Handoff in ProPhoto or even Adobe RGB 1998 will give you a better result than starting in CMYK. Every time.

  11. Online CMYK Pantone Bridge reference? - Graphic Design Forum

PrintDriver March 16, 2019, 11:24am #11. CMYK values are always a risk. If you are using a bridge, you may not even want the CMYK values for your pantone number, as they may not particularly match the swatch deck chip. You might want the values for some other number, for which you need a physical book, not an online viewing portal.
