A northern suburb of Detroit, Franklin is located within Southfield Township, roughly 20 miles (32.2 km) northwest of downtown Detroit. As of the 2020 census, the village had a population of 3,139.
Franklin is located in the northwestern part of the town of Franklin at (42.34055, -75.165952), [4] in northern Delaware County New York State Route 357 passes through the village, leading northeast 11 miles (18 km) to Oneonta and west 9 miles (14 km) to Unadilla.
Franklin Hills is a residential neighborhood, set in the hills east of Los Feliz Village. The Los Angeles Times described it as a "diverse community" with a "collage of architectural styles". [2] Franklin Hills is home to the Shakespeare Bridge. The ravine over which the bridge crosses was once a perennial stream called Arroyo de la Sacatela.
The Franklin Lakes Fire Department is an all- volunteer fire department, founded in 1924. The FLFD has two locations, one known as "Headquarters" which is located off of Franklin Avenue, and the other is the "Southside" Firehouse, located on Franklin Lakes Road.
