Even without seeing the underlying URL at the bottom of the message, I can assure you that this is not a legitimte message from Microsoft (or any other reputable company). None would ever ask you to cick on a link so that could select the best anti-virus program for you.

    And/or cutting the internet and/or shutting down your computer would stop all scam actions as well. A good ad blocker should prevent pop ups/fake warnings/alerts/ads etc. Tracking blockers help too. I use and recommend the free extensions uBlock Origin and Ghostery. Most browsers offer the same or similar extensions...

    In reply to Mitchell - MSFT's post on February 1, 2023. Those emails are definitely scams and not from Microsoft. One way of confirming scam emails it to select "Reply" (but do NOT actually "Reply". In majority of cases, you will notice the address you are replying to is not legit.

    This is almost certainly a scam/phishing message you've received. Scammers could be putting your address in the From field. They don't have to have sent these through your account. Ignore the messages. Don
