Use GoDaddy Whois to do the verification because it will show the correct expiry date. If you use a 3rd party whois, which only checks the registry whois, you often find there is one year added to the expiry date because the domain is automatically renewed between the Registry and Registrar, but has not actually been renewed by the owner.

You should check that one -- when you try to transfer out from GD, I am 99.9% sure that you will be required to remove the WHOIS privacy.
No domains show Pending WhoIs Verification status and there is no orange notification banner at the top of the Manage All / my Domains section, notwithstanding many current "Action required: Verify your contact info" emails from GoDaddy that I have not yet acted upon.
