The name "tucan fish" directly translates to "toucan fish", as "tucán" means toucan in Spanish. All members of the family Chalceidae are sometimes referred to as tucanfishes, but C. erythrurus is the species to which it is most often applied. The genus name Chalceus is Greek, and means brass or copper.
The yellow-throated toucan (Ramphastos ambiguus) is a Near Threatened species of bird in the family Ramphastidae, the toucans, toucanets, and aracaris. It is found from Honduras south into northern South America and beyond to Peru.

Like other toucans, the collared aracari is brightly marked and has a large bill. Adults are 38 to 41 cm (15 to 16 in) long and weigh 175 to 250 g (6.2 to 8.8 oz). Males and females have the same coloration of the bill and plumage but the female's bill is shorter than the male's. The three subspecies' bills are alike.
The many-banded aracari is 43 to 46 cm (17 to 18 in) long including the 11 to 12.5 cm (4.3 to 4.9 in) bill. It weighs 215 to 302 g (7.6 to 11 oz).

The Flying Legend Tucano Replica (English: Toucan) is an Italian light-sport aircraft, designed and produced by Flying Legend of Caltagirone and introduced at the AERO Friedrichshafen show in 2011. The aircraft is supplied as a kit for amateur construction or as a complete ready-to-fly-aircraft.
The ivory-billed aracari's breeding season spans from December to May in most of its range but is from February to August in the western and southwestern parts of it. It is assumed to nest in tree cavities like other toucans. Its clutch size is two to four eggs. Nothing else is known about its breeding biology.
