    discussions.apple.com/thread/251485095

In finder, there is never an option to update or reset the IPOD. The IPOD is always stuck "Loading" software. There is no ability to sync media on the IPOD. A similar IPOD works, has update options, and syncs, so I assume it is a problem with the IPOD. I tried downloading Apple's Shuffle Reset program, but it says it needs to be updated.

  11. 1. Update my software 2. Reset to factory settings. I opted for the former. After updating the software, I still couldn't find my "downloads" folder in the finder side bar. So I started playing around, here's what worked for me: Open to Finder ; Go to "Favorites" in top portion of the Sidebar and press on the downward arrow.
