    Massage does help though ... plus lots of alternative tools that calm our spirits which in turn calms the body. I have diastolic heart failure ( also called HF PEF ( heart failure with preserved ejection fraction). My ejection fraction is normal but my heart doesn’t relax enough afterwards.

    It means my heart beats fine during the pumping out (systolic) phase but doesn't relax completely during the diastolic phase, so the heart doesn't refill properly. It is usually because the ventricle muscle is stiff. I don't know if that is the case for you. 1 Reaction. REPLY.

    My 35 yr old son who is a fairly fit 6’3 174lb guy, was diagnosed in hospital w/congestive heart failure and viral cardiomyopathy. EFT was 10-15%. He is on a 4 prescription regimen for 90 days at which time he will have a new cardiac ultra sound to ascertain if there is EFT improvement. We’ve not been given much encouragement.
