Costco had better medical evac & medical premiums coverage. If you book through Costco travel cost is 5% of trip; if not 6.5%. Our TA price was less than Costco as we got better OBC & choice of cabins. Also they have a 24/7 travel number while it's hard to get through to Costco travel.

As i said the $15 quote was for cheapie cruises, $269, $269, $449 pp. I got a higher quote for insurance on a cruise that was $599 and $699. We were just looking for medical to cover diabetes.
If you are a person that travels and dines a lot, I would consider looking at a credit card that offers a generous insurance policy (Chase Sapphire Reserve). Yes, the yearly fee is astronomical, but the value far outweighs the cost of the fee. As long as you pay for the entire trip with your card, then you are covered.
The cancel for any reason is why I always buy HAL's for a long trip. It is not, however, travel insurance. Nor should one rely on its med-evac coverage. We self-insure instead of travel insurance; and our medical coverage covers us world-wide, so HAL's policy plus med-evac insurance fits our needs.
If you book through Costco Travel, the premium is 5% of the insured amount and you can do it all online. If not booked through Costco Travel the premium is 6.5% of insured amount and you have to call Cover-More. You do need a Costco membership, however. I haven't had to file a claim with them, but the insurance coverage is very good, IMHO. 1. 1.
142. January 4, 2002. #10. Posted January 28, 2008. Costco is not offering free insurance anymore-the agent said since November-they are now offering a generous OBC and their insurance is reasonable depending on the price of the cabin--$61 per person for Balcony. $300 OBC. I love Costco and always book with them.
Looks like Costco changed over to Zurich recently, but I really know nothing about them. Pricing and coverage seems reasonable, including 50% CFAR coverage. I already have GeoBlue and Medjet Horizon so I'm not too concerned about medical or evacuation coverage. Anyone have any other info? Thanks.
Oct 27, 2011. Messages. 23,442. Feb 10, 2022. #2. If you are looking at a Disney Cruise, no TA is allowed to discount the cruises beyond the same fares offered by booking directly through DCL. What you DO get with Costco is a Costco card valued at approximately 8% of the cruise fare, after your cruise is completed.
I did purchase travel insurance from Costco for my wife and I for our upcoming alaska cruisetour. From googling Berkeley travel insurance, it seems that Costco uses the same company as Princess. The cost of the insurance seemed reasonable in relation to the total cost of the trip, and as an executive member, a lot of the coverages are doubled ...
Although thankfully we have not had to make a claim - we have purchased travel insurance through Costco for several trips. Costco Travel will refer you to the provider - I think it was Zurich - and the premium is more than what is charged for trips booked through Costco - it is still a significant savings. Prev. 1. 2.
