The 4 year plan from Geek Squad is $129, but the TotalTech membership would cover camera for 24 months, most other products purchased at Best Buy during the membership, AND other tech services if needed for $200 annually. Any testimony for either service?
Total tech requires a deductible usually. Geek squad does not usually. Total tech gives you 2 years of credits essentially, but you can continue the coverage after 24 months by assuming the ~$6/mo cost. Geek squad I believe terminated after the contract term and I do not believe you can re-up or continue after.
It doesn’t cover any software services at Geek Squad like factory resets, data transferring, diagnostics, tune-ups, OS reinstalls, etc. TotalTech, by contrast, allows you to perform all included GeekSquad services for the membership fee and it also gives you 24 months of GSP on any devices bought at BestBuy while using TotalTech.
One big difference is you only get 2 years coverage on all your purchases (with deductible) with the Best Buy Total plan. If you buy the insurance plan straight out you have to pay for it but you can put up to 5 years protection on a TV with no deductible. Neither option covers panel or cosmetic damage though.
