Re: Avast Antivirus 100% Disk consumption. I've also noticed that cpu utilization is also near 100% on first login since it is doing a "quick" scan of the HDD before one does to much work on the computer. This will die down after about 5 minutes so one can get control of the computer back to do something.
Avast! is the only antivirus program that I had to use an elevated command prompt to fully remove after their removal tool failed on 3 occasions to actually remove the program. Not much of an issue since I finally made the decision to abandon avast! after having used since Avast was Alwil due to what I perceive to be irredeemable bloat.
