That is simply not accurate. Comcast has chosen not to pays fee to Wcvb as was stated in its own message to subscribers.You could at least post an honest answer.It is not tv stations that force other tv stations of off cable. That is ridiculous . So I repeat as a long time Comcast customer in Massachusetts I am asking Comcast to pay to carry Wcvb.
1 year ago. A little confusing in Boston. From what I see, WFXT (Fox 25) carries Comet, LAFF, Bounce, Get TV. MeTV is carried by WCVB (ABC 5). This is info from Wikipedia and the channel web site station finders, so not sure just how up to date it is. It's probably not a carriage issue as WFXT is owned by Cox, and WCVB is owned by Hearst.
My Xfinity Stream app suddenly has lost access to local channels such as ABC and NBC ( maybe more ) on an Amazon Fire TV. These channels have always been available on this TV before but now are gone for some reason. If I try to click on them, I get a message "Please connect to your in-home WiFi". This only happens on this one TV.

@Desolate14 You should be able to watch MeTV over the air (OTA), not through Xfinity cable service, in Providence, RI on the Boston, MA MeTV affiliate on virtual Channel 05.02, which is subchannel of Boston's WCVB-TV on Ch. 05.01.
Way back when, Bristol county could receive (and still does) OTA broadcasting from boston, providing two different sources for network programming. When cable TV kicked in, the local cable companies carried both Boston and Providence. That's why we have (had?) access both. There is no "local" cable company anymore, only regional behemoths.
