  2. Case xx Shark tooth, Hammerhead, and Mako - BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/case-xx-shark-tooth-hammerhead-and-mako.1174436

Apr 21, 2014. #9. I, too, remember drooling over this design in my youth. We had one local Leather Shop that carried several higher end knives, including Buck, Victorinox, Case, and Al Mar, back in the mid-late 80's. Maybe it was the picture of the shark that appealed to me, or that sharply raked back bolster.

  3. Knife Buck 110 vs Case Hammerhead Lockback - BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/knife-buck-110-vs-case-hammerhead-lockback.1060549

Plumberdv said: I wouldn't call this a "fancy" color. It (the Hammerhead) has scales made of some synthetic. It may be phenolic, the same as is used on most of Buck's 100 series fixed blades. Over all it's nice (except for the blade wobble) and is both lighter and thinner than the 110.

  4. Any Love For The Case Mako Knife? - BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/any-love-for-the-case-mako-knife.888730

The Mako and Hammerhead are steady sellers for Case, but the company realizes they will never be able to rival Buck's market dominance in this area so they focus on what they do best - small pocket folders. The Mako and Hammerhead are not bad knives, it's just that the Buck 110 and 112 are better and have a lower street price too. Last edited ...

  5. Questions About An Old Case Knife | BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/questions-about-an-old-case-knife.1928533

Case needed a medium LB in their line to complement the Mako, Hammerhead and Shark Tooth and contracted several variations; your variation, a Delrin handled variation, another wooden handled variation without the brass end bolster and a stainless steel handled version. All I have seen were made with a stainless steel drop-point blade.

  6. Buck vs. Case - BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/buck-vs-case.557221

I have and use both Case and Buck. I'm also a life member of Case collector club. Personally ,(and I might get slammed for it) I like Case pocket knives better and Buck hunting knives better. The lock backs of Case(mako, hammerhead, sharktooth) do not compare imho to the Buck 110. I like the thicker blade of the 110 and the handle just feels right.

  7. Who makes Walther Knives? - BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/who-makes-walther-knives.302434

To say the least, I was not impressed. The Walther name is licensed to Gutmann Cutlery (www.junglee.net) who also produces Junglee knives. Some Junglee knives are of very decent quality, but I personally refuse to buy anything from Gutmann because alot of their knives are just pale imitations of existing designs.

  8. Rough Rider versus Case - BladeForums.com

Feb 8, 2008. Messages. 1,304. Jan 5, 2012. #13. I have both, and had both worked on. These brands have different strengths, and it depends on what you're looking for. There is no question that the Case is a much better knife. The Rough Riders, while not in the same ballpark, are surpringly very good knives.

  9. rayskin inlay - BladeForums.com

Stacy E. Apelt - Bladesmith said: Rayskin that has been make into "garment" leather has had the back sanded down to the scales as well as being tanned to soften the skin. Rayskin for knife handles is much tougher. A rawhide same' skin is hard as metal. I cut it on the bandsaw sometimes.

  10. Best way to clean a scabbard? - BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/best-way-to-clean-a-scabbard.246203

1,522. Mar 5, 2003. #8. The best way to clean the inside of the scabbard would ideally be to open er up, and then wash the wood, and then scrape out anything that may have rotted out. Now that would be ideal, but puttin er back together is another problem The stick an cloth method may be the least damagin, way to clean er out, but Ive never ...

  11. Fixed Blade Knife Laws in New York - BladeForums.com

    www.bladeforums.com/threads/fixed-blade-knife-laws-in-new-york.669322

In summary: only in NYC is there a restriction on open carry (must be concealed) and on blade length (4"). NY state law does not make such restrictions. Furthermore, the only mention of the word sheath in the law is in discussing gravity knives: 5. "Gravity knife" means any knife which has a blade which is released.
