I’m thinking of checking out the C- Maps chip. Lowrance is doing the same thing Humminbird did with Lakemaster. The C- Map chips have a lot of nice features.

    Check out the Navionics web app for yourself and make comparisons with your favorite spots. I can give examples where it looks like Navionics has interpolated 5′ or 10′ contours into 1′ contours, rather than actually doing an on-water survey, but you can easily find those yourself.

    I have numerious GPS units and I find using the Navionics app a very handy tool with my phone….most folks with cell phones carry them all the time. So with the app you have lake detail at your finger tips! I have been presently surprised as how accurate and easy it is to use.

    The navionics app works pretty good on my galaxy s3. It works way better than the one in my helix 5 si gps. The helix would be off over 1000 feet at times when I really needed it to navigate the river at night in the fog. Very disappointing. But the navionics app on my phone was right on all the time.
