Almost way too easy to kill Defender, even with tamper protection on. Other anti-virus suites on the other hand, do not let themselves get screwed over, not so much, if at all. Highly recommend Bitdefender Free, light on system resources, most powerful antimalware and doesn't let itself be defeated so easily.
Windows Defender if you don't pirate or whatnot. If you do, Kaspersky Free or Bitdefender Free are better solutions in case of malware.
