I have over 15 box blinds on my Michigan and Ohio properties. The last 10 added, 2 Ranch king blinds and 8 ambush blinds with vent covers. Both are scent tight and deer do not smell you. Ambush Blinds have vent covers that you can open for a Mr. Heater, or you have to open a window to use heater. Both well made and comfortable.

They deter trespassers and lazy hunters. Steps are too inviting, and if your spot is too nice, you'll find a lot of guests want to hunt with you.

I don't have experience with other pre-fab blinds, but the shadow hunter we have is super functional, super comfortable and durable. They are expensive compared to buying a pre built wooden box blind though. You can get nice pre built wooden 6x6 box blinds for $500 or so, a comparable shadow hunter is more like $1300.00.

At 36" the window sill provides a great rest for your rifle. This blind (as well as most all of our blinds) is set up for about a 100 yard shot to where we expect to see deer. With a comfortable rest on the window sill we have experienced one-shot DRT kills 99% of the time. We also use adjustable height office chairs.

It seems like a good compromise between a standard ground blind and the very expensive hard shell blinds that *******, Banks and Muddy offer. PITBULL. You can light it with a match. Put it on pilot and hold the knob down then light. use the long kitchen matches or a fireplace lighter. Dont use a regular lighter you will just burn your fingers. If it gets too warm in your blind dont shut the heater off, just turn it back to the pilot position.

After years of using small woodstoves to heat 2 permanent box blinds at a friends property, I'm looking to invest in a Buddy heater. Life has gotten busy and we no longer have the time to spend multiple weekends in the woods between crops off and the start of the season to prep firewood so we can have heat.

I’m considering hunting in my BIL’s hay field from one of those round bale blinds in order to be closer to the cut cornfield. I want to place a few extra real round bales in the hayfield to act as screens for some possible sneaks.(My BIL square bales the hay from this field.) Would these extra real round bales be considered baiting?
