Anything over a certain number (I forget exactly, but something like 95999999) is from an uncut sheet that someone cut up. But the mint does make errors in cutting sometimes. The bills are likely not worth a premium unless part of the printed design is touching or cut off by the edge of the paper, or unless part of the design from a second bill ...
Series 1976 was the last major redesign to the $2 bill and the first Federal Reseve note to have a $2 denomination. It was hoped to revive the denomination and save on printing costs, the idea being that people could use one of these in place of two one-dollar bills.
FrugalCO Member. At my small-hometown, the same event took place with the 1776-1976 $2 dollar bills and I was told then, that those bills would be worth something as a coin and stamp collector. I appreciate their look and design along with the stamping and all, however, the bill is a collector for those who love collecting $2 dollar bills.
