The start is not that important, it's more of an excuse to get the MC involved and introduce the characters and some backstory, the story starts for real when they introduce the god of light and the sage, specifically that they have a grudge (don't remember names) the only important thing from the start is the black dragon since it's central to the plot and backstory
I remember a couple years back I saw the same for tales of demons and gods and was super excited and when it dropped it was trash they even used the Manhua chaoters in the anime. The only good adaptation is spirit mountain it's a good read and good anime
When I started getting into manga the big names at the time were already animated and had the reverse. Me seeing the anime and subsequently reading the manga. It's interesting perspective for a reverse me reading thebstory only to watch it now.

While the korean release is running smootly, currently on chapter 238, the US translation team on Leznin (4 cut hero official site) is still stuck in 227. There isnt a reason stated on the US Leznin website, only that they extended the hiatus. Like I said before the author nor the comic is in pause.
