This is poisoning the well. The "learn to code" meme, even if it was started by 4chan, is not inherently racist just because there are racists on 4chan.

But I do remember the coal mining meme about learning to code and I thought it was pretty funny nonetheless. But I think learning to code is more along the lines of learning a trade if one adopts it. Just like others have gone to do other trades electrician, plumber, air craft mechanic, welder etc.
It became a joke. A few years ago, a bunch of “journalists” were writing articles about industries like coal getting shut down and leaving a lot of people jobless, so the out of work coal miners should learn how to code. Imagine saying “Just learn to code, bro” to someone who worked in a completely different industry for decades.
