One Piece characters are much, much faster than FT characters. Kizaru can basically move at the speed of light. Sanji was able to dodge machine gun fire as well as move FTE under several tons of water, plus he speed blitzed someone who was capable of dodging lightning. Basically, One Piece verse stomps the Fairy Tail verse.
Fairy Tail tends to not explore its characters as much as One Piece. Both like to use silly characters, but One Piece often develops them into something more in a way that Fairy Tail doesn't tend to do. Which alone aren’t awful, but when you rely on the Nakama power up as clearly & often as Fairy Tail it really becomes grating. The big difference between One Piece & Fairy Tail’s use is that, it’s used sparingly & often Oda will try something more creative with Luffy first.
