I got 2 products that meet all the things you are asking for. Kaspersky free. Bitdefender free. Both Kaspersky and Bitdefender offer high protection. Kaspersky automatically runs a background scan, pausing it when you play games or use fullscreen programs. It resumes the scan when you exit fullscreen or the game.

ilike2burn. •. Kaspersky Security Cloud Free is really the only free AV left that I'd recommend (although it was always my top choice, so that's not a bad thing). Bitdefender and Sophos have killed off their free AVs, Avira is a bloatware mess unless you use their AV-only installer that they hide on a repair page, and Avast/AVG were exposed ...

Microsoft Defender + uBlock Origin on your browser (s) is solid protection for your computer. And unless you think you've been infected with malware or adware, don't bother with Malwarebytes. Windows Defender in Windows 10 is actually fantastic. There are a lot of scammy antivirus offerings out there.

I'm gonna butcher the name now, but one called Kapersky or something along those lines is worse than both Norton and Bitdefender in terms of protection. While Windows Defender can function as a protection software, it is worse than Bitdefender and Norton, so there's no good reason to keep it as your sole line of defense.

Thanks in advance, Regards_jakob. Common sense is the best antivirus. From what I’ve read, avast doesn’t seem like a good program for the Mac. I think the Mac has a built in antivirus called XProtect and that should be enough, but I know some people who scan their drive with malwarebytes every now and then. No.
