Welcome to the merSETA. The merSETA is one of 21 Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs). Established to promote skills development in terms of the Skills Development Act of 1998 (as amended), the 21 SETAs broadly reflect different sectors of the South African economy.
Training providers are accredited to provide the chosen learnership by the MERSETA ETQA; Qualified assessors are available (either in-house or contracted in) Companies advertise learnership opportunities using the media of their choice. Learners may apply following the company process as advertised

The merSETA does not train instead it facilitates the process for training by paying grants; registering moderators and assessors; identifying scarce skills; accrediting training providers; monitoring the quality of training and implementing projects to close the skills gap.
Applicant provider may acquire the accreditation documents from the nearest merSETA Regional Office or access from the website (training and quality assurance – accreditation), namely application forms, provider self evaluation form and criteria and guidelines for accreditation.
