The news articles and websites posted to these subs may be indicative of bias within the sub, so I collected all the websites posted to each sub from Nov. 3-10 (the day of the election and the week after) and analyzed them to check for bias. 976 articles were posted to r/politics, and 613 articles were posted to r/conservative.
Just resharing a data driven media chart originally shared during the Summer. I found it really interesting to understand the varying degrees of bias within the media.
Baked into the chart is media as a moderator of social relationships via images. Things that challenge the status quo left or right? Well "obviously" they lack reliability, they question the social order, and the preservation of that order relies on "impartial" reporting ie a non-confrontational ordering of ideas within an image.
Here is the fundamental problem: any/all media outlets run by conservatives, wealthy individuals, or large corporations- flat out refuse to cover events that make them look bad.

Interactive Media Bias Chart The chart works as you'd expect, with Political Bias on the X axis and Reliability on Y. The reason some sources are below 40.0, the level of high trust, is that they do more commentary than just news; in order to be at the highest level of trust the outlet must be strict news.
