I suspect that this is false. According to this official Microsoft Facebook post, their first ad ran in July 1976 in Digital Design magazine. I searched the entirety of all 1975 and 1976 issues of BYTE Magazine (available digitally from the Internet Archive) and couldn't find a single ad by Micro-Soft.
