So I’m going to edit my response here. Your PayPal fees aren’t including taxes paid by the buyer. If I include the taxes paid by the buyer, your PayPal fee calculation is right but the depop fee isn’t right. PayPal fees include taxes and shipping paid by the buyer. Plus this calculator doesn’t figure if the buyer pays for shipping.

Are they supposed to match? Using the example, the calculator gives $384.12 in platform earnings, while the example gives $400.40. And if we go backwards a little, the calculator gives $63.50 in transaction fees, while I calculated $44.50 [(0.029 * 5 + 0.3) * 100] based on the fees listed in the table. Regardless, thanks for creating this!

So I started freelancing again after a while and just when I was about to transfer from paypal to gcash yesterday, there's now a 1% convenience fee when it was previously free. This was effective just yesterday too so just my luck 😂. The exact words are: "A 1% convenience fee will be applied for cash in transactions starting Dec. 18 2023".

Posts about PayPal's policies will be removed. No more complaining about PayPal policy and their taking funds from your account for violations of rules. If you don't like the rules don't use PayPal. If you don't want to lose money, don't leave funds in your PayPal account. Simple as that. But these posts are often political or misleading.
