Naasón Joaquín García. Naasón Merarí Joaquín García (born on 7 May 1969) is a convicted sex offender, and the third leader of the La Luz del Mundo church, succeeding his father, Samuel Joaquín Flores. In 2020, he pled guilty in California to three charges related to sexually abusing children and was imprisoned for 16 years 8 months.
He became the leader of La Luz del Mundo on June 9, 1964, after the death of his father and served as the church's second apostle until his death on December 8, 2014. He was succeeded by his son Naason. Ministry and philanthropy. Flores continued his father's desire for international expansion by traveling outside of Mexico extensively.
