If you're east coast it's https://webmail.east.nmci.navy.mil. If you're west coast then change the east to west. Make sure you select your email certificate when it asks for one. 5. Award.
FS encryption does not work. Period. It is a known issue at the OPNAV N2N6 level. And just to add more information I have already manually added the webmail.apps.mil domain under S/MIME options. Also I have tried this in a non-private browser and a private browser too. Use IE and it will work.
HTTPS://webmail.east.nmci.navy.mil. Replace east with west if you’re at a west coast command. Google DOD OWA. You will need to talk to your N6 (or NMCI/OneNET) if you are on a base network to get you OWA access. If you are on a ship network I don't think it will work. Go to militarycac.com.

The concept of it is great since logging into your Outlook on the web browser no longer resets the NMCI account login. I believe an email was also put out on Wednesday or Thursday about reverting the NMCI account disable timer to 180 days too.
The Navy needs to get onboard with modern things like Docusign or figure out how to enable CAC digital signatures via FlankSpeed. I'm with you, but currently it's a much larger gap than most people realize.
The old Email and ID certificates will no longer be issued. For this reason, NMCI is directing all Sailors to realign their . NMCI accounts with the PIV certificate. After realignment, the PIV certificate will be used to log into all NMCI applications, including Outlook (OWA) email. For those who need to obtain a new CAC, account realignment ...
I believe they're working on getting the accreditation for the Outlook app on your phone. But even then, if you're storing anything Navy related on your phone, you would be subject to Microsofts MDM solution. Which would require you to meet certain security requirements, and also give the Navy access to do things like remote wipe.
It breaks down like this: Windows requires an email certificate in order to let you log onto Active Directory. However, Windows doesn't actually care if that email address is valid, because you're just known by your "subject alternative name" of ###@mil, where ### is the EID number that is on the back of the CAC.
