ADMIN MOD. Anyone use Nextdoor? New homeowner. Got an invite to join Nextdoor in the mail. I generally avoid Facebook and most social media of that ilk, so I’m hesitant. On the other hand, knowing more about the neighborhood and immediate neighbors seems like a good idea.
Maybe you'll make some friends in the process. I regret joining NextDoor. Thought it would be a great place to meet neighbors… but all it is is one problem after another and it’s a big platform now for people to just vent to a “community”. I’ll save you the trouble, don’t sign up for NextDoor. It sucks.

Making real human posts and interacting with the community is much more effective on Nextdoor than paid advertising. Just be a good member of the community and make sure everyone knows what you do. Then ask your customers to recommend you and soon everyone in the neighborhood knows you're go-to guy for what you do.

An account doesn’t get suspended for 1 removed post or review though. . . unless it was a very serious violent or racist threat. Screenshots of your posts would help. Nextdoor lead here of eight years. You were suspended for more than one reason. Suspension does Not happen without multiple guideline violations.
OP • 3 yr. ago. Yeah actually one of the leads that was voting wrong or just selecting "considering removing" on almost every post was one of the first people to use nextdoor in my neighborhood and invited over 250 people so I would feel kinda weird reporting them like nothing would result from it.
Like I've heard they extort the contractors to get bad reviews cleared out. Angies list used to be good but the last few years have been poor. I like the Nextdoor app. I can usually find 3 good sounding ones then research them online. If you like getting a lot of phone calls from Contractors use Home Advisor.
