MySQL mysql-installer-community-8.0.32.0 Server 2019. I am upgrading MySQL to 8.0.32 (from 8.0.27). The upgrade is successful, however, the Installer (which is version 1.6.5.0) hangs forever on the 'Apply Configuration' step at the point where 'Starting the server and upgrading the system tables (may take a long time)'.
I had installed Server 8.0 and uninstalled all parts of MySQL to reset the root password. Using Windows 10 file: mysql-installer-web-community-8.0.19.0. In the form "Accounts and Roles" it prompts for Current Root Password. As mentioned, I was hoping to set a new password! I entered the password I had just used in a sqldump command earlier today.
Looks like your MySQL Installer installation became corrupted when being moved to the new pc or when manually removing MySQL leftovers. I recommend running a cleanup tool to remove any traces of MySQL Installer (including any registry entries) and attempting the installation afterwards. ===== Jose Ramirez MySQL on Windows Team

Are you able to see the mysql-8.0.32-winx64.msi in that location? If so, you should be able to upgrade to 8.0.32. It is expected that 8.0.32 is grayed out when clicking the "Add" button since this option is only intended for new installations.
