Since it has not been updated, Internet Explorer is not only increasingly useless as a web browser, it's also a gaping security risk. Get rid of it through Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off and remove the checkmark from Internet Explorer. The warning you'll see is legacy and affects nothing today.
