The World Tonight is a Philippine television news broadcasting show broadcast by ABS-CBN, ANC and Kapamilya Channel. Originally anchored by Hal Bowie and Henry Halasan, it aired on the network's nighttime line-up from November 21, 1966 to September 22, 1972, and was replaced by BBC/City 2 Balita Late-Night Edition .
On May 5, 2020, ABS-CBN was issued a cease-and-desist order by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) and Solicitor General Jose Calida, [1] after the NTC refused to renew the network's franchise license earlier in February 2020. The franchise license expired on May 4, 2020, and a day later, ABS-CBN officially signed off in the evening.

Channel 9's Coverage would be the first weekly news program produced by ABS-CBN and it would be followed by the first Filipino-language TV newscast, Balita Ngayon, in 1966 on Channel 3 and in November 21 with the English-language newscast The World Tonight on late nights, which is today the longest running English-language national newscast.
