The local Factory Motor Parts warehouse in Eagan, MN is a Rockauto partner. My crankshaft sensors came directly from them. We use FMP almost exclusively at work, and I couldn't touch RA's price, shipping included, with my dealer pricing direct from FMP. They really do keep costs low on some things.

Semi off topic, but one of our Canadian online parts places has started the Warehouse A and B bit. Free shipping is available for orders over $100 fulfilled from the same warehouse. Before, it didn't matter. The shipping is still reasonable if it's from different warehouses and still over $100, but they picked up on the Rock Auto model.

There is nothing wrong with using Rock Auto. They are a drop shipper. When you receive your parts, google the return address to find where they came from. They usually use warehouses from Parts Authority, Auto Value, or Factory Motor Parts, though some parts are shipped direct from the manufacturer. Most, but not all, wholesaler closeout parts come from Ultra-Power in Sugar Land, TX.

Has anyone had to return a part for warranty replacement through Rock Auto? Who pays for the shipping to get the part to RA and the new replacement part sent back? It looks to me like the consumer pays shipping. Is there any way to communicate with Rock Auto? I can't seem to find a phone number...

I have found Rock Auto great for getting parts shipped to the UK. I pay maybe two or three times what I might pay in a US auto parts store but the total cost including shipping and taxes is quoted to me before I have to commit to purchasing.

A lot of the Canadians on this board use Rock Auto for auto parts. I really like their prices, even with shipping to Canada. They have the border crossing thing figured out and even their website can be configured to quote prices in Canadian dollars. One question that arises is how expensive is...
