I've had used the old version of Video Editor, and it's indeed convenient, especially if you got used to using the Video Editor for years. Microsoft's new Windows 10 'Video editor' is really just the Photos app in disguise. Open Photos App then on the upper right corner, Select New Video. If you don't see that option. Make sure your Photo app version is updated. Open Microsoft Store > Click 3 dots on the upper right side. Select Download and updates > Get updates.
Now, every time I want to make videos, I am forced to use ClipChamp. This "Windows forcing users to use new video editing software they bought since they dropped support on previous video editing software" happened before 10 years ago. In 2014, Microsoft shut down Movie Maker, and they forced Wndiows 7 Users to use Video Editor.
I was working on important family history video projects, which now looks like I'll need to start again from scratch. I will now need to use the Clipchamp app. I was quite happy with Video Editor, and reading comments above, it seems that it was a much better app than the new Clipchamp, which I will now have to learn to use (all over again).

Go to your Photos app's settings, scroll down, do you see the option to get Photos Legacy? If so, click on that and download it from the store. The video editor app is with the Photos legacy app.Or you can search for it in the store app and download it. Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site.
