You have to be nominated by a teacher -- this shows colleges you are a well-liked and hardworking student. Only one student for Girls State is selected from each school, so it pretty much tells colleges you are one of the best in your class. You typically have to pass an interview -- again showing you are a likable student.

The ladies that work/live in Hardin are very caring and my husband and I have been very happy with that. </p> <p>Hardin is about 95% greek and I have heard that SRD is more like 60/40. My D has said that the couple of girls that she knows that did not pledge don’t like living among all of the sorority girls.
