The first coins of the Indonesian rupiah were issued in 1951 and 1952, a year or so later than the first Indonesian rupiah banknotes printed, following the peace treaty with the Netherlands in November 1949.
The rupiah ( symbol: Rp; currency code: IDR) is the official currency of Indonesia, issued and controlled by Bank Indonesia.
