I was going to remove the credit freeze again for another card and got a notation from Equifax that I currently already have a temporarily credit freeze lift. I tested it -- sure enough, my Equifax is open today 01/12/2010 and not closed per my request and per the letter I received and downloaded confirming my request.

1. I created an account at MyEquifax website with my email address and unique password. 2. Equifax requires a PIN for verification, so they mailed it to my physical address. 3. I received the PIN via mail and entered in Equifax website. 4. Equifax website stated the PIN is valid and now I have an account.
Sounds like you may have what is called and famous with EQ a split file. Sending in those documents may fix that. Try pulling your free credit report from annualcreditreports.com and see if there is any info on there that seems out of place before the docs arrive. If you cant get in. Another sign your file is split.
To app with a freeze you need to give the code to the creditor as you will be denied for unable to access report. The number comes on a letter from the CRA indicating you have made the freeze or via email if you have chosen communication that way. If you didnt get I suggest you contact EQ, Message 3 of 6. 0 Kudos.
My Equifax report has quite a few inquiries and would like US Bank to pull TU or EX instead as USBAR is very inquiry sensitive. If I freeze EQ report, will they pull from others or just decline? I know many just pull from other reports, but don't know about US Bank. Thank you so much for your insight!
