Processor access is not same for intel and new Silicon. Agree more memory ican be better but it’s not necessarily the same.

  3. Comprehensive tests of M1 Max 32gb vs 64gb unified memory

jdb8167 said: I wouldn’t expect the amount of RAM on the M1 Max to have any performance difference. Both the 32 GB and 64 GB have the same 400 GB/s bandwidth. It is different than the M1 Pro 32 GB which has “only” 200GB/s. So unless your application needs more than 32 GB, expect the performance to be equal on the M1 Max.

The 16-inch MacBook Pro starts at 16GB of RAM and goes up to 32GB with the M1 Pro and 64GB with the M1 Max chips. The upgrades aren’t cheap, but they’ll be well worth the investment years from now when your machine is still running as smoothly as it was when you bought it. chico0915, drygioni and ohbrilliance.

  5. 32GB + 2TB or 64GB + 1TB? - MacRumors Forums

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/32gb-2tb-or-64gb-1tb.2213850

Nov 30, 2019. #1. Hi guys, I am considering to buy myself a new MacBook Pro 16" as a Christmas gift, but I am stuck with the RAM and SDD selection. 32GB + 2TB and 64GB + 1TB currently has same price. Some of my friends suggested me to go with 32GB + 2TB so I don't have to carry a portable hard drive every day. But I am thinking about 64GB + 1TB ...

  6. 32GB or 64GB of RAM in MBP16 for programming with many screens?

Aug 3, 2022. #5. I have not seen a single review or test, and I think I watched them all, that shows that the $400 extra for 64GB over 32GB gets a proportional performance boost. It does, however, suck more power. Maybe if you're working with 500TB files. Better to use that $400 for a bigger (and somewhat faster) SSD.

  7. Help me decide: 18GB or 36GB of RAM? - MacRumors Forums

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/help-me-decide-18gb-or-36gb-of-ram.2409628

Oct 3, 2009. 3,902. 2,972. Nov 2, 2023. #1. I have an Intel i9 16 inch MBP with 32 GB of RAM. I don't think I really needed 32GB but wanted to "future proof" the machine which I think was a bit of a waste of money at the time. I use my current MBP for grading in DaVinci resolve, often working with 6K raw footage from Blackmagic cameras, but ...

  8. iOS 32GB RAM or 64GB RAM is enough for a Developer

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/32gb-ram-or-64gb-ram-is-enough-for-a-developer...

    293. Mar 28, 2023. #6. 32gb should be great unless you have any art intensive loads (high res 3d models/textures, etc). I have an M1 Max with 64gb and honestly it’s overkill even doing heavy art loads + dev. I could have blender, photoshop, 50 tabs in safari, Unity, music, vscode and Xcode and I’m not using it all.

    forums.macrumors.com/threads/m1-max-32gb-vs-64gb-ram-use-cases-for-each...

I almost feel like the RAM equivalencies are slightly different in the new M1 architecture. For example, a 16GB RAM M1 system "feels" more like a 32GB Intel system to me, as does a 8GB M1 system (which is what I have in the Mac mini) felt and performed similarly to a Intel based 16GB system. This is just based on tests utilizing my stack of ...

Jan 29, 2015. Solution. #4. If going 64GB, should get a single complete set, that way all sticks are tested to work together and guaranteed - you can try 2 sets but no guarantees and if any problems the sticks are guaranteed by the package so may well face return shipping (if applicable), RMA/restocking fees, lost time, etc. 0.
