Very satisfied with my Garmin InReach. I have the contract service plan and pay 13.67 per month. I’ve had my device 2+ years. I’ve been on the rescuer side of an sos activation and IMO the ability to text with the injured party is priceless!

Indianapolis, Indiana. Nov 5, 2022. #31. I bought a Garmin Inreach mini version one a few years ago. In the Hoosier national forest with tree coverage thick, I could not get reliable gps fix. Sometimes I could send and receive in twenty minutes or times I had to look for a ridge and clear sky. I sold that unit.

My work team is looking at getting some sort of GPS units that will allow us to stay in contact in remote locations and send out an SOS if needed, and tasked me with doing some research on current products. I know the Garmin inReach is the most prominent thing out there that would do what we're asking, and I see they now have the inReach ...

I use a garmin inreach for my travels, it’s worth looking into if your going out where there is no way to contact rescue. If you want to hide give you phone to someone at the greyhound station and tell them to use it all they want on their trip, that or tape it under a semi on a cross country trip.

Many say the 66sr is better than the 67sr. It can connect to 4 different navigation systems, unlike 3 with the 67. Many also have said that the 67 isn't an upgrade, it just has a slightly longer batter life. With that said, I paid $500 as it comes with Topo mapping and Multi-Band support. Asking only $400 shipped.

I may cheat off you too. This is a Garmin Striker 4. They also make a plus 4 with a slightly larger screen. Found this one for around $100 on eBay. It is very basic and easy to operate. Just a classic sonar with better definition thanks to the Chirp technology and the way it sends and receives sonar pulses.
