Until a few years ago, Steam used to provide user data for what games people owned. SteamSpy would poll that data and be able to give a pretty good estimate of how many games were sold. Steam made it opt-in and pretty much shot the accuracy of SteamSpy all to hell. That is why SteamSpy gives some pretty broad ranges of the number of units sold now.

Epic does not simply own the rights to do whatever they'd like with the songs they license. They bought specific rights to use songs for specific Rick Band games, and those licenses had experation dates. That's why you can't even export songs between RB games anymore. That itself was a licensing agreement, that has since expired.
