CapCut is quite simple to use does not have many advanced features, and has some features hidden and not very intuitive. (e.g. taking screenshots, inserting transitions between images in bulk, fade in/out effect using keyframes...). That's good to know, thanks. I'm a rank beginner, so CapCut is about right for me.

If you're in CapCut, on the right side of the screen in the Details section you can see the exact location where it's saved in the "Saved" section.

So apparently you're supposed to press the "invite friends" and then get an invitation link. Then you download a capcut exe to install, but this time upon install it shows a popup when you log in to insert the invitation code that is also shown in the link. However capcut seems to know if you had it downloaded on desktop previously.
CapCut has some nice features for a free editor and I use it for quickie edits where I don't care to deal with DaVinci Resolve, which is free but looks intimidating to new users. I don't know what features justify a purchase of the Pro version, other than multiple video tracks and extra transitions and effects.

It’s an outrage that a company spending tens of millions a year in development to give users a free alternative to Adobe, paywalls a few minor features and continues to give 95% of the service away for fee. Fade in fade out is like bare basic things for video editing, making them premium is just pure crap.

Quick fix> Run the installer without uninstalling capcut, if you dont have the installer you can download it for less than 5mb on capcut's website, Run that installer then it will open up capcut that is already installed> once it's opened make sure to PIN it TO TASKBAR.
