I was actually exploring all options that is why i mentioned another company. I’m actually new to filing taxes especially by myself. I have everything ready in turbo tax as well to be submitted. I just wanted to know if I submit my taxes through turbotax now and get a NOA in a few weeks…. I’d then be able to make my new CRA account right?
I immigrated to Canada in 2017. I haven't filed my taxes since then and this is the first time I'm filing them. Pls don't judge, I know I slacked a lot. I just filed for 2017, 2018 and 2019 using Wealthsimple Tax about a month ago. Received three emails from the CRA saying my Notice of Assessment for each year is ready to view in CRA My Account.
CRA locked account - my experience I was one of the users who was affected by the recent 'data breach' which locked tens of thousands of people out of their CRA account. I haven't received any direct communication from the CRA in regards to this outside of the email that my email address has been removed from my account.
It’s my first year filing taxes so my CRA account is non existent right now. So I called CRA to see how I am able to receive CERB/CESB and I just need to change my address with the operator. I was transferred about 3 times and waited an hour to get in contact with someone (on a Monday).
Just called up an hour ago to get my new code and a few other account things. It was a really pleasant experience that was finished within a few minutes. Called, gave them some info from my return, got an email with a temp code within a few seconds and was able to login.
I filed my taxes as normal this year, and proceeded to use the CRA My Payment tool to make a payment on my owing amount – as far as I can remember, this is how i've done it in the past. I made the payment, got the 'payment confirmation' page, and saw the money taken out of my TD account.

If you have "My Account" set up with CRA online, you can change your address from your account: sign in your account; on the right-hand-side menu under "Related services": click on "Change my address and phone number" If you don't have "My account" set up, you can call CRA at 1800-959-8281 . I hope this was helpful
To get this straight: you owed money from 2020, and had a refund from 2021. You paid the full amount owing from 2020, and your account shows a credit for the 2021 refund. Would've been simpler to pay the difference between the amount owed and the refund, but that's behind you now. You basically overpaid your taxes.
ANSWER: 10,000 CRA account login were released on the dark web. You have to call in with SIN and a previous tax return. Change info and a security question. I'm not sure that's actually true. I've been locked out of my account 2 years in a row while trying to file my taxes while outside the country. I think they're just saying that.
