First location. Children's Hospital of Columbus opened in 1892 with 9 patient beds, which quickly grew to 15 beds. In 1923, the cornerstone for the new hospital was laid, and in 1924, the new hospital opened accommodating 75 patients with the ability to expand to 150 beds immediately (eventually going to 300 beds). The East Broad Street Commercial Building is a historic building in Columbus, Ohio. It was built in 1930 and listed as part of the E. Broad St. Multiple Resources Area on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The building has served numerous businesses, including doctor's offices, insurance agencies, and a Kroger store (1930-1946).

[1] It stood as the tallest building in the city until being surpassed by 8 East Broad Street in 1906. [2]
