Was feeling a bit skeptical after that. So I paid the $30 “down payment” on Monday or Tuesday. Just today it allowed me to login to the app because my payment had finally posted to my account. However, when I login it says “Available credit: $0” with “-$30.00” underneath it and shows nothing due and N/A next to the due date.
I opened a Fingerhut credit account in 2020 to help build my credit. They want to close the account now due to inactivity. Should I keep it open? Or, if I do close it, will it have a negative affect on my credit score?
I was just approved for a Fingerhut Fresh Start account, too. My plan is to make 2 payments on time and then on the third pay it off. I hear that is about the best way to do it without dragging it out for six months. I hope that I graduate into the regular FH account, even though I don't really plan on using it that often.
Someone got my identity and opened up an account and charged $580.97 worth of junk. I called fingerhut and told them that it wasn't me and that I want that order stopped from being shipped out which she did and she also put my name in with their fraud dept. so nobody else with my info can order anything.
So I opened my Fingerhut account shortly after my BK, and have never used it. Now that I'm a year and 4 months post DC, I don't want to close it, as having the 500cl unused is helping my scores. Does anyone know the timeframe of when they will close the account due to inactivity? Thanks :smileyhap...

It is by will alone I set my mind in motion..... Always follow these rules: Only take a HP for a new account. Always use the best rewards card for that reward category. Don't close a card unless you know you really should. Never use more than 35% of a credit limit. Recon as much and as best you can. Use the introductory period to the best ...
Just now received email FingerHut credit card is moving from The WebBank to a different Bank . UPDATE: I called FingerHut and cancelled my credit account with them. I know I'll be loosing $800 credit limit on this account. I do not want new account added to my credit report at this point.
Even though I do not use my Fingerhut account now, it is one of my older rebuilder cards that helped me reestablish credit. So I won't close it. But, my account went from $500 to $2000, where it is today. They will automatically increase your limit every few months after usage and making on time payments. Good luck!!
I'd love to know too. I was approved months ago for a $230 Fresh Start account. I did a prequal again yesterday, and was approved for the real $400 webbank account. However, I couldn't set up the account because my SSN is already tied to the older Fresh Start account.
