Craigslist in Nashville has only ever been good for me when it comes to music/audio stuff. I've had some luck with free stuff, furniture, computer, & cellphone sales there. Everything else is pretty much dead. Even then you've got folks trying to get retail prices for their "barely used / practically new" gear.

Craigslist is HORRIBLE for finding rentals in Nashville, as they seem to be almost completely scams. I found a place using Trulia a couple of years ago. There are also numerous Facebook groups specifically for rentals that would probably be beneficial to join. Craigslist is rough to sort though but doable.

My recommendation would be to use FB Groups. Both groups specific to roommates and just housing in general. You should find plenty of people posting. If y'all are comfortable making a post in said groups you'll most likely get some interested inquiries. My suggestion would be to take the time to really screen your next potential roommate.
