Welcome to Southern Local School District. During the 1950's, the State of Ohio pushed to consolidate the small schools into larger schools. The Southern Local School was one of consolidated schools in Columbiana County.
The Southern Local School District encompasses 106 square miles in the southwestern corner of Columbiana County. The district consists of one building that holds grades Pre-K through 6 in the elementary wing and the junior/senior high wing of grades 7 through 12.

In the early 1960's, the Southern Local School District was created. The district encompasses 106 square miles located in the southwestern corner of Columbiana County in Washington Township. A new high school and administrative offices are located on State Route 39.
