At least, when it's explained in a chunk of text whose primary or entire purpose is to explain backstory. But, yes, I'd say that it can be both narrative summary and exposition. Well, though my mind quibbles about whether "narrative summary" can apply to events that begin before the story. Hmm.

The conclusion of a story is the wrapping-up of the Climax. The climax of the story is a decision by the protagonist that either earns, or fails to earn her , her story goal. She does this by making a choice between the morally correct choice and the easiest, most physically rewarding choice.

The story ends with someone patting Locke and his body beginning to bleed.-There are four great notes I took while reading this short story. 1. The story reminded me a lot of the movie 'Cannibal Holocaust.' This story is an exploitation story, a story about 'civilized' people taking advantage/mistreating the 'uncivilized' natives.

    1. a one-to-two sentence summary, for when people ask at parties etc., "What's your story about?" 2. a one-paragraph summary, for submissions to agents etc. 3. a back-cover blurb. This is slightly longer than #2, but not by much. (As an example, for one of my stories, the one-para summary is 68 words, and the blurb is 85). So, here are my ...

  8. I can't decide chapters/scenes after writing my story's timeline.

    www.writingforums.org/threads/i-cant-decide-chapters-scenes-after-writing-my...

I've written out a timeline/ order of events for my story, like an incredibly specific summary, but now I'm having trouble determining how to split it up into chapters. When I first tried to create the chapter outline, I ended up making 30 chapters within the first quarter of book and that was simply too much.

  11. How to plot a story - Creative Writing Forums

    www.writingforums.org/threads/how-to-plot-a-story.174251

You can plot your main story on the timeline, and you can also plot the timelines for each character to trace their arcs (for those characters who have arcs). For me it's way better than just writing up outlines or whatever. It's dynamic, you make a change and it reflects all across your timeline and outline.
