The 12400f is still one of the most recommended CPUs for value and the 13400 will probably take that place eventually. Today's consoles are 8 core 16 thread CPUs and games are definitely made with that hardware in mind. None of the bottleneck calculators I have seen are even remotely accurate.

Bottleneck calcs are the opposite. user driven data means most machines are older, have clutter (lots of background bullshit adding to the processor load), likely unupdated drivers, and many other variables like thermal paste age. So yes, it is highly inaccurate. But they show where you might get to over time.

Type in " (CPU of choice) (GPU of choice) (maybe a specific game)" Honestly, YouTube !! A bottleneck can change from game to game, and resolution/gfx settings, so if you want to know if your config is going to be bottlenecked, type your gpu+cpu combo, and you will find lots of useful videos !

Bottleneck calculators aren't accurate, the GPU and CPU requirements of games can vary greatly between each game, so in some games you could have a CPU bottleneck while in others you could have a GPU bottleneck. Bottleneck calculators rarely take into account things like the game, resolution, etc. Don't use bottleneck calculators please.

I'm sorry but a "bottleneck calculator" like the one in your link is garbage. Components like your CPU, GPU, ram etc should be chosen according to your actual needs. For example: If you want to game at high resolutions (1440p+) that puts an extra emphasis on the GPU. Should you prefer super high fps 1080p game-play that would make the CPU a bit ...

Using a 3070ti at 1080p. At that point it's not as out of whack as say a 3080/3090 at 1080p is but it's bordering on a lot of gpu for that resolution. Meaning it's looking for a really swift cpu to keep up with it. What you might start seeing at 1080p with a 3070ti is 80-85% gpu usage vs 95-99%.

The 9th gen cpu that you have isnt amazing but it shouldnt massively bottleneck the gpu. Also if you just do gaming, i would suggest on checking the Radeon 6700 and 6700XT as those usually are the same/nearly the same price as that 3060Ti but they have more raw power and vram. With that gpu, you could easily play at 1440p when you do more ...
