Veneto (US: / ˈ v ɛ n ə t oʊ, ˈ v eɪ n-/ VEN-ə-toh, VAYN-, [3] Italian: [ˈvɛːneto]) [4] [5] or the Venetia [4] is one of the 20 regions of Italy, located in the north-east of the country. It is the fourth most populous region in Italy, with a population of about five million. Venice is the region's capital and the largest city.
