A centrifugal fan is a mechanical device for moving air or other gases in a direction at an angle to the incoming fluid. A computer fan is any fan inside, or attached to, a computer case used for active cooling. Fans are used to draw cooler air into the case from the outside, expel warm air from inside and move air across a heat sink to cool a particular component. Both axial and sometimes centrifugal (blower/squirrel-cage) fans are used in computers.
A crankcase ventilation system ( CVS) removes unwanted gases from the crankcase of an internal combustion engine. The system usually consists of a tube, a one-way valve and a vacuum source (such as the inlet manifold ). The unwanted gases, called "blow-by", are gases from the combustion chamber which have leaked past the piston rings.
